Chelsea Townhouse

Brief:

When the client was planning the refurbishment of the Chelsea Townhouse he shares with his wife and three young sons, he knew an integral part would be a complete new home entertainment system for the whole family to enjoy.

The centre point for the family entertainment was going to be the enlarged lower level of the house, at basement level extending underneath the rear garden. This was to be the games room with home cinema and surround sound system. A split level area for everyone to enjoy.

Solution:

The family wanted something very easy to operate and the Sonos multi-room system fulfils this brief perfectly - it is controlled simply from an iPhone or iPod Touch. Music is provided from the Sherbourn subwoofer amp and Pronto control.

The only thing on show is the impressive 60" plasma. The amps, projection and sound equipment are hidden behind a 6" thick hidden wall. The focus for this room really is the entertainment and not the kit. The eye is drawn to the screen and other dramatic art works as well as the snooker table, table football game and punching bag - all just waiting to be enjoyed. Even the DVD cabinet is completely concealed into the walls.

The upper level of the basement provides another area designed for relaxation with sofa and drinks cabinet a second Sonos music controller.

Continuing up the stairs you arrive at the ground floor living area, a stunning area with a 50" Pioneer plasma screen, speakers underneath and surround sound.

The first floor living room features, Bose speakers and surround sound Sonox control panels. The master bedroom has a Samsung 32" plasma swivel TV mount flush fit with speakers in the en-suite bathroom, all controlled by an iPod Touch or the control panel in the bedroom.
"The TV screens look great and the intuitive control panels are very easy to use. I had never thought to use Apple TV before. It was Paul who educated me as to the benefits."

"Intelligent Interiors was recommended to me by our architect. Paul took the brief and designed the system, was responsive and dealt with all my requests. Shane and the team of installers were very efficient, proficient and knowledgable - and excellent at programming."

"It's a joint or two way process to spec out an entire system so it does require input from the customer. This is where Paul was particularly helpful, he made several visits in order to optimize the system and enhance its performance."

"We are very pleased with the result, its easy to use and very good quality. Intelligent Interiors did a a really good job and we are very happy."
